Retirement for BIG BAD JOHN

Celtic hero, big bad John Hartson, has announced his retirement from football at the age of 32 and will forever be fondly remembered by Celtic supporters for five great years in Glasgow.

Having laughably failed a medical at Rangers, the same medical passed by Seb Rosenthal and others.

John came back to haunt Rangers with a 'healthy' proportion of his 108 hoops goals against the club that turned him down.

Probably his most memorable goal came against Liverpool in the UEFA Cup at Anfield but with over 100 goals to choose from we're spoiled for choice.

International Celts on video

It's been a quiet week after the transfer window excitement of last week.

International weeks are notoriously slow.

Some of our bhoys have been out in action with Scott McDonald scoring in Melbourne while Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink did likewise for Holland against Croatia.

Over in Poland Artur Boruc saved a penalty against the Czech Republic taken by ancient striker Jan Koeller.
